Ralf Probst

Ralf Probst was born in Kronach in 1975 and studied classical percussion with Prof David Punto at the University of Music in Weimar and with Prof Dr Peter Sadlo in Munich from 1997 to 2003. During his studies, he was a trainee at the Staatskapelle Weimar and in the orchestra of the Coburg State Theatre.

He then studied from 2003-2004 at the University of Music in Munich in the master class of Prof Dr Peter Sadlo.

 

He has been a music teacher at a grammar school since 2004 and works as a conductor, composer and arranger.

Until 2013, he was active as a percussion teacher at various music schools in Upper Franconia.

Since the summer semester of 2013, he has been teaching as a music teacher and lecturer for cultural work and aesthetic education at the Coburg University of Applied Sciences, where he leads various ensembles (university big band, jazz combo, brass ensemble).

Until 2019, he worked as a drummer and percussionist in numerous orchestral projects (including the Staatskapelle Weimar, Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, Munich Radio Orchestra, Coburg State Theatre).

Since 2010, he has worked as a band and musical drummer in various productions at the Coburg State Theatre and is also the drummer and artistic director of a jazz quartet and a rock & soul band.

 

Through his many years of work in various fields, he has created numerous compositions and arrangements for big band, jazz ensemble, percussion instruments and music templates for classroom music-making.
